ATHLETIC FITNESS NEW CATEGORY
The sport for strength, endurance and body quality.

At Tallinn, Estonia took place the first Athletic Fitness event in IFBB, organized by Arnold Tokko.
The new modality presented at Tallinn, impressed a lot to President Santonja and all the IFBB Executive Board members present at Tallinn. It was praised the potential of this excellent combination of Strength, Aerobic and Physic performance for men and women; the excellent interaction with spectators, and its huge potential of expansion through fitness clubs worldwide.
Athletic Fitness combines strong exercises (Dips and Chins), Aerobic (Rowling) and Physic (four turns), all of them performed in group elimination series, in the most dynamic and attractive challenging competition.
IFBB first World Championships in Athletic Fitness will take place next October 11st - 15th, at the ARNOLD CLASSIC EUROPE in Madrid, with Arnold Tokko leading the event coordination for IFBB.
Being included in Arnold Classic Competition, Athletic Fitness is definitely on the verge of a great break-through in the world. It has already won over many ordinary gym-goers in Estonia and Nordic countries.

The difference between athletic fitness and bodybuilding is that in addition to body round (quarter turns), athletes must also compete in strength (chins and dips) and endurance (rowing on a rowing machine for 2 minutes).

Athletic Fitness
Athletic Fitness became popular in Nordic Countries and was first introduced by IFBB in 2011. Athletic Fitness is a sport about strength, endurance and body quality.
Competitors have to go through 3 rounds, which first is about strength and consist of pull-ups and dips. Competitors perform in swimming pants (men) or in small training clothes (women) as many as pull-ups and dips as they can. Second round is about endurance and athletes must go through 3 minute long rowing session and the winner of endurance is the athlete who goes the most further. In third round competitors go through quarter turns in swimming pants (men) or in black bikini (woman). The competitor in Athletic Fitness is with overall athletic physique with small amount of body fat, performing him/her on stage with self-confidence.
The results of all three rounds are summed up. The favorite is the competitor who has the highest places in all three rounds. In Athletic Fitness there are two body-height categories for men: up to and included 175 cm; over 175 cm as well as two body-height categories for women: up to and included 163 cm; over 163 cm.


Athletic Fitness is a sports which was
introduced to Estonia from the Nordic countries. It has been practiced there for years and it has also been included in Estonian Championships of bodybuilding for two years.
